Sites to Buy Interesting Trinkets for Geeks, Nerds and Engineers

Geeks & Nerds love their toys!

Besides the smart phone, MP3 player, GPS device, clever watch and a host of other essential, sometimes we like the lighter more humorous toys. T-shirts with clever slogans, mugs with our favorite sci-fi character or the bobble headed Dilbert doll all make good gifts and make for interesting bling in our home office, den or living room. Below are some of my favorite sites to find such things. WARNING! Your bank account may suffer great depletion if you visit these sites too frequently.

This is one of my favorite site for shirts and mugs. They have a good cross-section for all topics, not just computers and sci-fi.

This site is my absolute favorite for techy nerd gifts. They have an outstanding collection of desktop toys for engineers and sci-fi buffs and lots of t-shirts too.

Computergear.com

Much like Computer Gear, Think Geek has an entertaining selection of toys. They also have more expensive upscale toys like speakers, keyboards and computer bags (Yoda backpack anyone?). I'll be forever on their mailing list for all I've purchased there!

This site caters to the more general public with a broad selection of shirts, statues, room accessories of the most outrageous sort. As a nerd, you may not purchase as many things here, but it is worth the visit for the entertainment value.

Your friends will never fault you for buying something from this Edmund Scientific. Catering toward educational scientific toys, they have really cool, albeit somewhat pricy, gizmos. I really want the $150 model steam engine!

I'm not actually sure I've purchased anything from this site, but they have an awesome collection of cool junk for sale! They also seem to skew towards upscale things, too big for the mantle or your pocket. Worth checking out!

Here's another site I have not personally purchased anything from. Where else can you buy an office voodoo kit? They seem to specialize in office gifts. I want it all...

            Kleargear.com

Final warning! Buying from these sites WILL cause your mailbox to forever fill with geek catalogs. Mine surely does. I'm going to play with my Star Trek talking bobble head dolls now......

Disclosure: I get no reimbursement of any kind from the above sites. I just like trinkets.
