I explored the world of online coupon sites and here is the skinny.

  • Most of them have all the same coupons.

  • They would like you to sign up so they can e-mail you more ads.

  • The better sites have some good tip articles, and they are free with no strings attached.

Of course, you get many coupons in the mail in the mid-week junk mail from the post office. Local papers also carry coupon pages on Sunday and Wednesday, but you have to buy the paper. Many food items come with coupons attached and your checkout slip in some stores (like Safeway) includes pre-printed coupons targeted at your buying habits. Magazines like Family Circle have coupons in them. In fact, their website has a user forum with links to coupons for free food:

Family Circle Momster Forum - links to free food samples.

Grocery Coupon Guide - Not too many coupons but the Eating on $1 a Day Challenge article is intriguing.

Grocery Saving Tips - Lots of tips here and printable grocery coupons without a sign-up requirement.

Coupon Mom - Free sign-up (they will send you e-mail coupon offers) with lots of printable coupons

Smart Source - Printable food coupons with no sign-up, installs java print applet.

Print Coupons - More printable coupons, needs to install print driver on your PC.

Cool Savings - Printable food coupons, same as above.
