Everything Tea
Tea - Who doesn't like a good cup of tea? It is cheap as dirt and comes in all kinds of flavors: black, green, herbal. Really, you can make tea out of almost any kind of plant. Here are a few of the advantages:
- The antioxidants in tea are beneficial to prevent cancer.
- Some teabags (National tagless at Walmart) only cost a penny, literally, so it is one of the cheapest caffeine fixes on the planet.
- By drinking a cup of tea every few hours you regulate your caffeine for maximum benefit, unlike coffee that causes a peak followed by a crash.
- Herbal teas are homegrown remedies for many ailments from insomnia to sinus congestion.

Green vs Black Teas:
Historically, green tea is an eastern choice and black tea is a western choice. It turns out they are made from the same tea leaves and the difference is in the processing. Green tea is less processed, has a grassy flavor, less caffeine and has an antioxidant called EGCg that is processed out of black tea. On the other hand, black tea, which goes through an extra step, has more flavonoids known as phytonutrients. There has been no definitive study that proves green tea is better for you than black tea. It does stain the teeth less but costs more, at least in the US, where black tea is more mainstream. Here are some links that go into more detail on the differences of black vs green tea:
